Originally introduced as Fender's mid '60s flagship student model, the Fender Mustang has become a favourite of players of all styles due to its comfortable short scale design and its unique sound, due in part to the pickup phase switching only found on this model.
This 1966 Mustang is a great example of an affordable, player grade '60s Mustang. The neck date is January '66, and both pickups and all hardware are original. The volume pot is original and dates to the 7th week of 1966, and the tone pot has been changed. This guitar has been fully refinished in an 'off white' colour, with signs of the previous finish visible beneath and in the neck pocket and cavities. There has also been a crack repair to the upper horn of the body which is stable.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
