This 1965 Gibson ES-335 is a great example of a sunburst finished, TD model ES-335, of which approximately 700 were produced in 1965. This guitar is quintessential mid '60s Gibson thin line, with a tone and vintage mojo that is hard to replicate.
This is in very good condition, and includes its original yellow lined case. The original burst finish has faded out considerably over the years, giving the front a very honeyed look, contrasting greatly with the rear of the body. There is minor lacquer checking and minimal amounts of play wear. The neck still features the wider 1 11/16ths nut width that would be phased out by 1966, with slim, playable neck profile and the typical pearl block inlays found on the model. The original double line, double ring Kluson tuners are present and correct, as is the factory trapeze tailpiece and chrome saddle ABR-1 bridge.
The electronics, Pat No. pickups and other hardware are correct for the period and appear original with the exception of all four pots, which have been changed, and the covers have previously been off the pickups.
This guitar has been given a full service & appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
