Originally introduced as Fender's mid '60s flagship student model, the Fender Mustang has become a favourite of players of all styles due to its comfortable short scale design and its unique sound, due in part to the pickup phase switching only found on this model.

This 1965 Mustang is a fantastic example, and is in all original condition. This guitar also features the standard 24" scale length and 'B' neck width. The neck date is October '65, with the original pots dating to the 34th week of '65 and the grey bottom pickups dating to the end of 1965. The pearl pickguard and all other hardware is also original and in great condition. The maple neck features a veneer Rosewood board and slab alder body. This guitar is internally and externally original with the exception of an added bridge ground wire.

The original red lacquer finish shows only very mimimal signs of play wear and patina, and is in generally excellent condition. This guitar also includes its original case, hand tag, strap, guitar cable and string pack. The full package!

As with all vintage instruments, this 1965 Fender Mustang has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
