Teisco guitars initially began production in the late '40s, and became one of the most popular budget guitar brands throughout the 1950's & '60s, being widely exported from Japan all over the United States and UK for sale in high street stores and were often the first instrument of budding young guitar players, with these Audition models being the most commonly found variation in the UK. This 1964 Teisco Audition is a percent example of just that, featuring a retro-futuristic offset design and uniquely voiced electronics, along with a vibrant sunburst finish and plastic tortoiseshell pickguard. The original hardware is intact and fully functional, including the vibrato tailpiece.
The body is fitted with a set of single coil pickups which have a mellow and dynamic sound, working excellently for both clean and dirty playing. This guitar is in very good condition for this kind of instrument, with only minor signs of play wear. It is internally and externally original, and includes a gig bag.
As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
