Much like Fender, Rickenbacker are another company with a rich heritage in lapsteel instruments, and were the first company to successfully mass produce lapsteel guitars for a growing market, with many of the design elements carried on in to their electric guitar production. This 1950 Rickenbacker Model NS is in fantastic condition and really showcases the charm of Rickenbacker lapsteels. The steel pressed body is finished in a Grey Burst Enamel, the NS lapsteels features an early version of the horseshoe pickup, which would be used tin various ways on other Rickenbacker instruments through the years. The sound is clear and defined, with this particular lapsteel having a warmer sound than others we have played. This lapsteel also features the metal plate headstock logo as opposed to the decal found on other models.
