A great example of a Gibson made electric Mandolin, this 1956 Gibson EMS-150 features a dog ear P90 pickup and the typical symmetrical teardrop body shape found on Gibson A Style Mandolins.
This EMS-150 features a nicely aged Cremona Sunburst finish with just the right amout of play wear and patina, with a crack repair to the bass side of the top of the body. This mandolin is based around the acoustic A-50 model, with a carved top and nicely figured maple back and sides, rosewood board and clamshell tailpiece. The original P90 pickup has the kind of full bodied sound you would expect, and works well with the mandolin frequency range with plenty of clarity. The hardware and electronics are original and fully functional, with the Kluson 4 on a plate tuners and gold speed knobs in good condition. The tuner buttons have been replaced at some point.
This 1956 Gibson EMS-150 has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty
