The Martin Style 17 guitar was reintroduced in 1922 as the first Martin guitar designed specifically for steel strings. The all-mahogany Martins from the pre and post war era are amazing instruments that produce a bluesy, rich sound that remains clear and loud despite their compact body size. This particular 1952 Martin 00-17 is one of the cleanest we've seen, with exceptional tone and playability.

This 1952 Martin 00-17 is a prime example of Martin's exceptional craftsmanship during this era. The medium-sized '00' body produces an open and resonant sound, thanks in part to the lightweight build and years playing that have opened up the wood over time. This guitar boasts all the standard features found on style 17 models from this period, including open gear tuners, tortoiseshell pick guard, and the original rectangle bridge.

This 1952 00-17 is in exception condition, with the body only showing minimal signs of wear, predominantly to the lower edge of the instrument. There has been one minor top crack that has been previously repaired, and the tuner buttons have been changed. Otherwise, this guitar is internally and externally original. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
