First appearing in a catalog in 1932, the Gibson L-00 was the entry point in the Gibson range for players looking for a flat top acoustic, featuring an ebony finished top with small sunburst, fire striped tortoiseshell guard, and retailing for only $25. This 1934 Gibson L-00 is a fantastic example of the model from Gibson's pre-war golden era of acoustic guitar making.

Constructed from a solid Sitka Spruce with solid Honduras Mahogany back and sides, the X braced bodies of the L-00 push out far more sound than their size would lead you to believe, with a warm, open, punchy sound that works excellently for blues and finger style playing. The Mahogany neck has a comfortable 'V' style neck profile that is the usual for the period, and the headstock sports the script style Gibson logo.

There have been some repairs to this L-00 to ensure it continues to play and sound as good as it does for many years to come, all carried out by our in house luthier.  The neck has been reset and refretted to ensure excellent playability. The tuner buttons have also been replaced with vintage style equivalents. The pickguard has also been replaced with a period correct tiger stripe guard. This guitar has had a full service from our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and is in all original condition, including the bridge, finish and 3-on-a-plate open back strip tuners. This guitar has clearly been well played over its life, with the kind of play wear, patina and lacquer checking you would expect to see from a near 100 year old instrument.

This guitar also includes a 3 year warranty.
