The Fender Custom Shop are known for producing some of the best modern recreations of vintage instruments around, and this 2006 Fender Custom Shop 1968 Stratocaster is a fantastic example of their work. Featuring an Ash body finished in a in a vintage correct see through blonde lacquer, the Custom Shop Relic treatment accurately recreates years of play wear, with plenty of lacquer checking, colour fadeout and some small areas of wear through to the wood. The rift sawn Maple neck features a '69 style 'U' shape neck profile that fills out as you move up the neck, perfectly recreated by the Custom Shop luthiers, along with the larger headstock design used by Fender during this time period. The tuners, hardware and aged 3 ply pick guard are all period correct and aged to match the finish, and the body is fitted with a set of hand wound Fender Custom 1968 Stratocaster single coil pickups for an authentic vintage tone.
This guitar is in all original condition and includes its certificate of authenticity, and original tweed tolex Custom Shop case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by the luthier at the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
