Introduced in 1962, the Jaguar was intended to be Fender's new top of the line model, but with its unique sound, switching options and shorter scale, it would go on to find favour with alternative musicians throughout the following decades.
This 1963 Fender Jaguar is a wonderful instrument, and a fantastic example of the kind of pre-CBS custom colour Fender guitar that have become so sought after in recent years. The main feature of this guitar is of course its colour. Custom colour Jaguars from the early '60s are out there for those looking for one, but there are certainly some colours that are more widely available than others. This See Through Blonde custom colour is one of the lesser seen finishes, and was the only finish specifically sprayed over Ash bodies to show off the natural grain of the wood. This guitar sets itself apart from other Jaguars of the period with the addition of gold hardware, another upgrade that Fender offered at the time for an additional charge.
This guitar is in very good, original condition, with the original See Through Blonde showing the kind of play wear you would expect to see from a guitar of this age. The electronics are original and in perfect working order, with the pots dating to the 9th week of 1963. The heel of the neck shows a February 1963 ink stamp. This guitar also includes its original white tolex case and tremolo arm.
This guitar has been given a full service & setup by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
