Since their debut in 1954, the Gibson Les Paul Junior has been a preferred choice for musicians of various genres, with a simplicity that belies their sound and versatility. This 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut is a fantastic example from Gibson's golden era of solid body guitar production.
Crafted from a Cherry-finished slab Mahogany body, this guitar is in outstanding condition, displaying just the right amount of wear and patina on its finish. These 1959 models introduced slightly rounded body edges, departing from the squared-off edges seen on earlier iterations. The neck is also in remarkable shape, boasting the renowned '59 Les Paul neck profile—substantial and comfortable to hold, yet exceptionally playable. Guitars from this era are renowned for their exceptional feel and playability. The original dog ear P90 pickup is intact and delivers a clear, growling tone when plugged into a good tube amp.
This guitar is in very good condition, exhibiting the expected play wear and patina for an instrument of its age. It is internally and externally original with the exception of the tuner buttons, which have been replaced.
