Undoubtedly one of the most influential guitarists of the modern era, Johnny Marr has defined himself as one of musics most creative guitar players through his work with the Smiths, Modest Mouse and The Pretenders among many others. This 2021 Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar combines period correct Jaguar features based on Marr's own favourite 1965 model with a host of unique upgrades.
This Johnny Marr features an alder body with a sleek black nitrocellulose finish, allowing the wood to breathe and the finish to age naturally over time. The body is fitted with a set of custom designed Bare Knuckle Johnny Marr Jaguar single coil pickups for maximum tonal versatility. This is paired with uniquely modified Jaguar switching, with a four position switch that allows series and parallel middle positions, along with two upper horn bright switches to really make the pickups sparkle when necessary. The Maple neck features a mid '60s 'C' profile and a 7.25" radius for an authentic vintage feel, modelled directly from Marr's own 1965 Jaguar. Other features include a Mustang saddle bridge with nylon post inserts for greater stability, and a redesigned taller tremolo arm.
This guitar is in excellent condition with no real cosmetic wear to speak of, with the original case, tremolo arm, hang tag and even the protective plastic still covering the pickguard. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
