2013 Gibson Custom Shop '63 Reissue ES-335 Sold Out Sold Out This 2010 Gibson ES-335 is a fantastic example of a modern made ES-335, with all the style and tone of a vintage model, in exceptional condition. First introduced in 1958, the Gibson ES-335 has endured as the companies most popular semi hollow body model. This particular instrument has an interesting history of its own, having been owned and toured until 2023 by Jay Mehler, guitarist for Liam Gallagher, Beady Eye and Kasabian. Constructed from a multi ply laminated Maple body with a Mahogany neck, this '63 reissue ES-335 is finished in a Tobacco Sunburst lacquer with block pearl fretboard inlays, first introduced by Gibson in 1962. The body is fitted with a pair of Gibson made Burstbucker humbuckers. The clean sound is warm and rich with plenty of dynamic response, while the smooth, lively sound when played driven tube amp gives an unmistakable blues rock tone that is incredibly versatile. This ES-335 features similar spec to earlier ES-335 models, with a tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles and stop tailpiece, bound rosewood fingerboard, and multi bound black pickguard. This guitar is in very good condition condition with barely any signs of play wear to the body. There has been a previously repaired headstock break which has been done well and is perfectly stable, and there is also a small wood chip out of the rear of the headstock. This guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
