The Fender Custom Shop produce a dazzling range of instruments, from authentic vintage recreations through to boundary pushing modern takes on classic guitars from the companies illustrious history. This 2010 Fender Custom Shop La Cabronita Especial Telecaster sits nicely between the two, taking elements of '50s golden era Fender electric guitars and paring it with a grittier tone and modernised electronics, perfectly showcasing the creativity of the Custom Shop. This guitar is also one of only 10 made worldwide in this finish, as part of a limited Custom Shop run.
Featuring an Alder body finished in a relic'd Candy Apple Red lacquer, this La Cabronita Telecaster has the sharp style of a classic early '50s Telecaster, aged to perfection to recreate years of loving play wear. The Maple neck features a large 'C' shaped profile, giving it a chunky vintage feel without the fullness of a typical early Telecaster neck. A 9.5" fretboard radius and 6105 frets help to make it effortlessly playable. The body is fitted with a set of TV Jones Power Tron humbuckers, with a powerful output and plenty of clarity that forgoes the traditional Tele for a beefier sound with great top end definition and plenty of dynamic range. Paired with Fender's Greasebucket tone circuitry and S1 switching, this guitar has a wealth of tonal possibilities. Other features include Sperzel vintage style tuners with pearl buttons, Nocaster style chrome dome knobs and a single ply parchment pickguard.
