The Fender Custom Shop are known for producing some of the best modern recreations of vintage instruments around, and this 2005 Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster Relic is a fantastic example of their work. Featuring an Alder body finished in a in a vintage correct 2 Tone Sunburst lacquer, the Custom Shop Journeyman Relic treatment accurately recreates the type of moderate play wear that you would expect to find on a vintage guitar that has been used but well looked after. The Maple neck features a '56 style 'V' shape neck profile that fills out as you move up the neck, perfectly recreated by the Custom Shop luthiers, along with the larger headstock design used by Fender during this time period and a 7.25" fretboard radius. The tuners, hardware and aged single ply parchment pick guard are all period correct and aged to match the finish, and the body is fitted with a set of hand wound Fender Custom '50s Stratocaster hand wound single coil pickups for an authentic vintage tone.
