One of the most iconic instruments from the golden era of vintage Gretsch guitars, the 6120 has become synonymous with the sound and style of Chet Atkins and other great country players of the period. This 2004 Gretsch 6120 was a limited run only in production for two years, with solid Maple top and back construction as opposed to the usual laminate. The addition of solid woods greatly increases the acoustic resonance and tone of the instrument, both unplugged and amplified.
The body is fitted with a set of TV Jones Filter'Tron pickups that offer the signature sound Gretsch guitars have become so known for, with plenty of clarity, and plenty of punch and bite when pushing a tube amp. This guitar is finished in a Western Orange Lacquer stain stain that shows off the grain of the Maple, and features vintage style thumb marker inlays, Chet Atkins signature logo pick guard, and a Bigsby vibrato tail piece.
This guitar is in excellent, near mint condition with its original case, with barely any signs of play wear to speak of. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty and its original Gretsch hard case.
