1986 Guild Aviator

Throughout the 1980s, almost all traditional guitar companies found innovative ways to adapt to the changing musical landscape and demands of guitar players. The rise in popularity of brands such as Ibanez, Jackson and Charvel left the golden era scratching their heads to come up with competing models, often to varying levels of success. Guild were one such company, introducing their new line towards the end of the '80s, including models like the 'Blade Runner' & Motley Cru signature 'Flying Star.' This 1986 Aviator was one such model, featuring a nicely figured Poplar body in a symetrical Strat style shape. The body is fitted with a set of DiMarzio pickups in a HSS configuration, along with a Kahler floating tremolo and Guild branded locking tuners. Most of these models have largely faded in to obscurity, but are interesting collectors pieces that provide a fitting snapshot of the era, with all the high output '80s super-Strat tone you could need.
