The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a fantastic guitar, featuring the lesser seen 3 pickup orientation most commonly associated with late '50s Customs. This guitar features 3 piece Maple cap and a solid Mahogany body instead of the pancake used by Gibson in previous years, along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the deluxe appointments of block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model, with a deep Wine Red finish found on some Les Paul Customs of this period. The body is fitted with a set of 3 patent stamped pickups, which is quite a rare configuration for Les Paul Customs of this period, with most using the traditional two humbucker set up.

This guitar is in excellent condition, with only the most minor signs of play wear and patina. There has been a small amount of touch up on the back of the neck, and one of the tone pots has been changed. Otherwise the electronics are all original. The pickups are original with plenty of punch and clarity, with the bridge and middle pickups having had their covers removed at some point.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. This guitar also includes its original Gibson case.
