This 1965 Gibson ES-335 is an exceptional clean example of a sunburst finished, TD model ES-335, of which approximately 700 were produced in 1965. This guitar is quintessential mid '60s Gibson thin line, with a tone and vintage mojo that is hard to replicate.
This is in excellent, all original condition, and includes its original yellow lined case. The original sunburst finish is in very good condition with only minor lacquer checking and minimal amounts of play wear. The neck still features the wider 1 11/16ths nut width that would be phased out by 1966, with slim, playable neck profile and the typical pearl block inlays found on the model. The original double line, double ring Kluson tuners are present and correct, as is the factory trapeze tailpiece and nylon saddle ABR-1 bridge.
The electronics, pickups and other hardware are correct for the period and appear original and untouched, with a clean set of Patent No. pickups that offer all the woody hollowbody tone you could want from a Gibson of this period, with the covers and Patent No. stickers intact. The wiring harness appears untouched, with the only partially readable pot code showing 134 65XX.
This guitar has been given a full service & appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
