Originally launched as Fender's flagship student model in the mid-1960s, the Fender Mustang has grown to become a beloved instrument among players of all genres. Its appeal lies in its comfortable short-scale design and distinctive sound, partly thanks to the unique pickup phase switching feature exclusive to this model.

This 1965 Mustang is a great, early example of the model. The neck is dated March '65 and features the 'A' stamp, indicating the slightly narrower nut width often found on these student models. Both pickups and all electronics are original, including the Stackpole pots, which date to the 12th week of 1965. This guitar has clearly seen the inside of more than a few smokey bars over the years, with the white finish having turned various shades of yellow over the years, particularly on the rear of the body. The hardware is original throughout with the exception of the strap buttons, which have been replaced. This guitar also includes its original grey tolex short scale case.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 2 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. Get an additional 3 years workshop warranty cover with the No.Tom Guitars Extended Warranty
