A standout model from Rickenbacker’s most celebrated era, this 1964 325S delivers vintage tone and unmistakable 1960s style. Built for the UK market and sold through Rose-Morris as model 1996, this guitar is closely tied to the sound and look of the British Invasion.
This guitar features a small, semi-hollow maple body that’s light and comfortable to play. The short 20¾-inch scale neck makes it easy to handle, and the rosewood fingerboard with simple dot inlays adds to its vintage feel. The split level pickguard adds to the typical Rickenbacker look, along with the factory fitted vibrato tailpiece tailpiece.
With three vintage-style Toaster Top single-coil pickups, the 325S delivers the bright, clear tone Rickenbacker is famous for—perfect for rhythm and lead alike. It’s a great choice for collectors, Beatles fans, or players after something unique with real 1960s character.
This guitar is internally and externally original with the exception of a refret and replaced blend control pot. The finish is in good condition, with some patina and minor areas of play wear around the edges of the body and to the rear of the neck. This guitar features a 'DE' serial number, indicating it left the factory in May of 1964, 3 months after the 1964 model famously used by John Lennon on The Beatles 'Ed Sullivan Show' appearance. The remaining original pots date to the 14th week of 1964. This guitar also includes its original Rickenbacker case.
