Teisco guitars initially began production in the late '40s, and became one of the most popular budget guitar brands throughout the 1950's & '60s, being widely exported from Japan all over the United States and UK, and were often the first instrument of budding young guitar players.

Although often associated with the beginner end of the market, a lot of Teisco guitars were forward thinking and fairly 'out there,' both sonically and aesthetically. This 1960's Teisco 'Top Twenty' is one of those examples. Featuring a subtly offset double cutaway body, faded cherry burst finish, and contrasting shell-pickguard.

The original hardware is intact and fully functional, including the vibrato tailpiece and the Top Twenty headstock badge. The body is fitted with a set of single coil pickups which deliver a bright and articulate sound, perfect for surf, garage rock, or any genre that calls for a bit of character and charm.

This guitar is in very good condition for this kind of instrument, with only minor signs of play wear. It is internally and externally original.

As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 1 year warranty.
