The Les Paul Junior is an example of simplicity at its finest. Since their introduction in 1954, these no frills, stripped back solid body guitars have been a go to for players of all different kinds, with a tone and playability that makes them far more versatile than their simple design would have you believe. This 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior is a fantastic example in all original condition.
Featuring a slab Mahogany body finished in a two tone Sunburst, this guitar is in excellent condition with just the right amount of wear and patina to the finish. The original dog ear P90 pickup has plenty of bite and growl. This guitar also features its original wrap around bridge, which in 1956 saw the threaded post length further sunk in to the body, meaning there are no issue with post lean as can be seen on earlier Les Paul Juniors. The electronics are original, including an original bumblebee capacitor and pots that date to the 41st week of '56. The tuners has been changed for aged Kluson equivalents, but the original tuners are included in the sale.
This guitar also includes its original case.
