The Fender Custom Shop has long been the pinnacle of modern guitar manufacturing, offering both period correct vintage reissues and more modern takes on classic Fender models, finished with the highest attention to detail. This 1993 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster is a great example of the stellar work produced during the early years of the Custom Shop, and finished in the rare Black Holoflake colour.
The Alder body is fitted with a set of Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, with a hotter output perfect for an overdriven rock sound, but dynamically responsive enough for clean playing. The Maple neck features a 'C' profile, which when combined with the 9.5" fretboard radius makes for a very comfortable feel. The Black HoloFlake finish is what really sets this guitar apart. Used on small runs of guitars at points in the '90s, it has an iridescent quality, with flakes of blue, red, green, purple and yellow visible at different angles and in different lights.
This guitar is in very good cosmetic condition, with the only issue to speak of being some lacquer checking to the rear of the neck which appears to have let some moisture beneath the finish, although this does not effect playability.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
