Here is a beautiful example of a fairly rare Rickenbacker instrument - a 1965 Model 780 pedal steel. Constructed from a beautifully figured piece of Maple, this 8 string, single neck pedal steel is a finely made instrument, with the kind of attention to detail and quality expected from Rickenbacker guitars of the same period. Only ever offered as a custom order form the catalog, this is a wonderful and hard to find mid '60s Rickenbacker.
This pedal steel is in very good condition, with only one small tear to the front grill cloth to speak of in terms of wear. One of the tuning machines is slightly bent but functions perfectly, and there is a small split in the wood grain just above the headstock which has been repaired by our luthiers and is now secure. There is also a slight silhouette on one side that has been left by a sticker, although this is very hard to see from almost every angle in the right light.
